Requirements
GateAccess needs a link supplied by the access operator for the compatible DoorGateway at leipzig.fner.net. The app does not replace a gate controller and does not support arbitrary garage door hardware. Automatic shared storage requires iCloud Drive.
Setup
Paste an access link and leave the field. After successful validation, the app loads its icon. Name and arrange up to eight accesses. Use “Use in Shortcut” to select the access for Siri and the native Shortcut action.
Operation
Select an access card in CarPlay. “Test” on iPhone also sends a real opening command for the configured access. Launching the app does not open a gate. Open Siri or Shortcuts to use the app actions. A custom Shortcut can consist of the single “Open access” action without storing an access link in the Shortcut.
Feedback
The first success sound follows confirmed relay activation; the second follows the confirmed end of the relay impulse. Errors use a different sound pattern. A relay impulse does not confirm the mechanical gate position. If opening is not confirmed, check the gate before another deliberate attempt.
Get help
Email gateaccess@hafner.info with your app version, iOS version, vehicle and the visible message. Do not send secret links or AccessSecrets.json. Redact access addresses in screenshots.
Common questions
Can I connect any gate hardware?
No. GateAccess requires a valid link for the compatible DoorGateway. It is not a universal replacement for a gate controller.
Does “Test” really open the access?
Yes. “Test” sends a real opening command for the configured access. Make sure operation is safe before using it.
Does the success sound mean the gate is open?
The success sounds confirm relay activation and the end of its impulse. They do not report the mechanical gate position.
What if opening is not confirmed?
Check the gate before another deliberate attempt. Do not repeat an unconfirmed operation without checking.
Why do I need iCloud Drive?
New setups use the shared access list in the Gate Access folder in iCloud Drive. Previously authorised files remain in use. Siri and Shortcuts need the appropriate iOS and file permissions.
