Purpose and legal basis

GateAccess manages up to eight accesses for a compatible DoorGateway and sends opening commands at your request. Processing provides the requested access service (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contractual relationship exists) and serves the legitimate interests of secure access control, troubleshooting and preventing misuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

On your device and in iCloud

AccessSecrets.json contains access links with secret keys, names, access types, their order and the Shortcut selection. The app also stores language, sound and speech preferences and downloaded icons on the device. New setups use the Gate Access folder in iCloud Drive; previously authorised files remain in use. iCloud synchronises the file through your Apple Account. Apple processes iCloud and Siri data under its own terms and privacy notices. This does not give the app provider access to your Apple Account or your entire iCloud storage.

Access server and logs

When validating links, loading icons or opening an access, the app connects to leipzig.fner.net using encryption. The server necessarily receives your IP address, the requested access address, timestamps and requests. It manages access permissions, validity and usage. The backend stores use counts, the last use and required operational state. Operational logs contain time, access type, a shortened access reference, outcome and, where applicable, technical error details. This does not confirm the mechanical gate position. There is no additional app analytics service.

Recipients and transfers

The access operator processes requests and access logs. Apple provides iCloud Drive, Siri, Shortcuts, the App Store and, where you choose to share them, crash reports. A support email is processed by the provider and its email service. Apple may process data outside the EU/EEA under safeguards described in its privacy notices. The app contains no advertising or tracking SDKs and does not sell data.

Retention and deletion

Entries in the shared file remain until you delete them. The trash button removes an entry from that file; it neither revokes server permission nor deletes backups or other copies. You can also manage files and backups in Files. Server permissions and use state are retained for the lifetime of the access and the configured cleanup period afterwards. Operational logs rotate according to size, replacing older generations. The seven-day log view is not a general deletion deadline. Relevant data may be needed until a security or legal matter is resolved. Support enquiries are deleted after resolution and any required statutory retention period.

Your rights

Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons arising from your particular situation. Any consent you have given may be withdrawn for the future. You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner: www.datenschutz.sachsen.de. Contact gateaccess@hafner.info for requests. Do not include secret access links.

Permissions, Siri and error reports

The app does not request location, contacts or microphone access. iCloud Drive and an internet connection are needed for automatic shared storage and remote operation respectively. Siri and Shortcuts follow your iOS permissions. The native opening action can run while the device is locked where iOS and file access allow it; consider your Siri lock-screen settings. If you share an error report through Apple, the developer may receive technical crash and diagnostic data. The app does not upload its own analytics or crash reports to another service. There is no automated decision-making with legal effects or advertising profiling.
